In the first quarter of 2010, the real estate sales went down but house prices were stable. Not only the policies began more and more tightened, but also the financial situation of real estate developers became increasingly tight. The house prices began going down from the beginning of May. And most developers cutted the prices to stimulate sales of their residential property projects.

In early 2010, Shanghai high-end residential rental market began recovering. Due to increasing demand and Shanghai expo, the supply of Shanghai high-end houses for rent in the first quarter of 2010 increased 10%, 594 newly increased high-end houses for rent, including Lanson Place Jin Qiao Residence and Casa Lakeville. As the economy got better gradually, the number of Shanghai expatriate staff working in multinational corporations returned to grow which drove the demands for leasing high-end residential property to rise.
